How would you translate a poem? Join poets, editors and translators Ibrahim Hirsi and Helen Bowell for a unique poetry translation workshop, open to all. Led by these facilitators, you’ll collaborate with other workshop participants to explore the art of translation, and create a group translation of a poem by beloved Somali poet and songwriter Xasan Ganey. No experience of Somali, translation or poetry is necessary to take part. This workshop is presented by the Poetry Translation Centre, celebrating its 20th birthday throughout 2024.
Online Zoom tickets are also available, limited to 4 per workshop. Please book a ‘Online Zoom participant ticket’ at checkout.
