Brazilian poet Ivánova appears alongside UK poet and translator Long. The pair have worked on a selection from Ivánova’s award-winning book the hammer (o martelo), alongside translator Francisco Vilhena.
The selection considers both sexualised violence and consensual sex through a single narrative voice, offering a potent expression of female sexuality in poems that are challenging, profound, and darkly comic.
Poet and translator Meena Kandasamy joins the panel, representing Tilted Axis Press’ new Translating Feminisms pamphlets which showcase intimate collaborations and conversations between some of Asia’s most exciting women writers and emerging translators.
