The Poetry Translation Centre has been running poetry translation workshops for over ten years, bringing together poets, translators and enthusiasts to uncover poets from around the world and bring their work into English. To date we have translated 440 poems from over 28 languages.
Our next season of Poetry Translation Workshops starts in January and we’d love you to join us. We will be working with a mix of new and returning translators on poems from China, Iran, Kenya, Cuba, Thailand and India. Award winning UK poet Clare Pollard will be returning as facilitator for this season.
We now charge a small ticket price for our workshops. Charging a little will go a long way to making the PTC’s unique workshops sustainable over the long term and encourage people who have booked to turn up and take part. To make your contributions go further we will be running a loyalty scheme so each workshop attended will earn you points towards free PTC chapbooks and poetry collections.
You can buy a season pass for all six workshops for £30. Individual workshops will cost £6. Students and retirees can get a discounted season pass for £25 or pay £4 per session. For the unwaged and refugees the sessions will remain free.
We look forward to seeing you all at our workshops in 2017.
