The Poetry Translation Centre has been running poetry translation workshops for over ten years, bringing together poets, translators and enthusiasts to uncover poets from around the world and bring their work into English. To date, we have translated 440 poems from 28 languages.
Our last Poetry Translation Workshops season of the year starts in October and runs until December. This winter we will be welcoming translators working in Somali, Japanese, Urdu Portuguese and Persian.
Clare Pollard, the award-winning poet and future editor of MPT Magazine will be returning as our poet facilitator. We will also be looking again at Brazilian poet Adelaide Ivánova and Iraj Ziayi, the Iranian ‘Poet of Objects’
There is no need to know the language being translated, just come along!
We will be continuing our loyalty scheme so you can earn points towards free PTC publications with each workshop you attend.
For this shorter season, you can buy a season pass for all five workshops for £29. Students and retirees can get a discounted season pass for £17.
For the unwaged and refugees, the sessions will remain free.
We look forward to seeing you all at our winter workshops!
