Join us as we tour four exceptional poets from Turkey and the UK between 21 June and 1 July.

‘We are delighted to be taking these brilliant and very different poets on the road. Karin Karakaşlı deserves international acclaim and we believe Sarah Howe’s delicate and finely wrought translations will introduce her to a whole new audience. Bejan Matur is already known and respected in English but this collaboration with Jen Hadfield has produced some exceptional new translations which we can’t wait for you to hear.’
– Erica Jarnes, Managing director of the PTC.

The PTC Summer Tour, supported by the Prince Claus Foundation and Arts Council England, will feature acclaimed Kurdish poet Bejan Matur and Armenian-Turkish poet Karin Karakaşlı, alongside TS Eliot Prize-winning British poets Jen Hadfield and Sarah Howe and literary translator Canan Marasligil.

The tour celebrates the publication of two new Poetry Translation Centre chapbooks: If this is a lament by Bejan Matur (translated by Jen Hadfield and Canan Marasligil), and History-Geography by Karin Karakaşlı (translated by Sarah Howe and Canan Marasligil).
