The Horniman Museum in south London houses remarkable collections of musical instruments and anthropological objects from all over the world, a fascinating setting in which to hear Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi read his poems; Saddiq was joined by his translator, PTC Director, Sarah Maguire, and the outstanding Sudanese musician, Tariq Abu Obeida, played the oud and sang to huge enthusiasm from the audience, as this video reveals.

The Horniman Museum opened in Victorian times when Frederick John Horniman first welcomed visitors into his house to view his extraordinary collection of objects. Since then its collection has grown tenfold and includes internationally important collections of anthropology and musical instruments, as well as an acclaimed aquarium and natural history collection.
