Following the success of the translations we produced in our workshop of Mohan Rana’s poems last year, the PTC decided to commission the outstanding Irish poet, Bernard O’Donoghue, and Hindi translator, Lucy Rosenstein, to translate his poems at length.

This special event, held at The Whitechapel Gallery in East London to coincide with their exhibition ‘Where Three Dreams Cross: 150 Years of Photography from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh’ was the first time these translations were read in public. A full house gave a very warm response to Bernard and Mohan and we were delighted by the success of the evening.

We’ll publish a chapbook of Bernard and Lucy’s translations of Mohan’s poems later in the year. Meanwhile, the poems are on our website and you can download a podcast of Mohan and Bernard reading together by clicking here.
