West London is home to many Persian-speaking people and so we were delighted that our first reading of the tour, featuring three Persian poets – Azita Ghahreman, Shakila Azizzada and Reza Mohammadi – took place at the Mosaic Rooms near Earls Court.

The event was sold out – more than fifty people responded with great warmth and enthusiasm to the readings by Azita, Shakila and Reza. A fantastic start to the tour!

You can see photos taken on tour at the PTC Flickr stream.

This very special evening was the first chance to meet our international poets, hear them read their remarkable poems and buy their new chapbooks. PTC Director, Sarah Maguire, read the poems in translation.

We were very grateful to the Mosaic Rooms for kindly agreeing to host this event in their beautiful venue. Many of the audience members commented on what a fantastic and appropriate venue it was.
