Before the international poets arrived, the PTC was invitied to take part in the prestigious Bristol Poetry Festival at the Arnolfini Gallery.

At the event, Sarah Maguire talked about her experience of translating the Arabic poems of Al-Saddiq Al-Raddi with W. N. Herbert, who’s translated the Somali poetry of Maxamed Xaashi Dhamac ‘Gaarriye’. Both Bill and Sarah then read their translations to a very enthusiastic and inquisitive audience. It was a great way to kick off the tour.

Please see Bill Herbert’s blog in which he discusses the event.
