Goldsmiths STAR Society, Goldsmiths English PEN Society and the PTC encourage all creatives to join us in sharing their talents as a result of exposure to the work of refugee poet Weedhsame. This evening will be focussed around artistic responses to the refugee experience, be this through music, art or writing. All mediums welcome! It is an opportunity to encourage the celebration of refugee writing, by viewing individuals in terms of their artistic expression. We aim to encourage all attendees to problematise the notion of political identity through this collaborative night. See you there!
British Somali Poet Asha Afrah will be at the event to read the Somali of Weedhsame’s poem ‘Catastrophe’.
