Join us for an evening of readings from:

Asha Lul Mohamud Yusuf, who has lived in the UK for 20 years, is a poet known for her mastery of the prestigious gabay form, and beloved across the Somali diaspora for her unmistakably contemporary voice. She reads alongside her friend and poet-translator Clare Pollard from their new collection The Sea-Migrations, published by the Poetry Translation Centre and Bloodaxe Books.

– London-based poet and writer Farah Gabdon, whose work is illuminated by her identities as a British Muslim, reads from her recently published book Breathing Just a Little.

Aisha Afrah, also from London, is a poet who weaves themes of nature, womanhood and being a refugee into her work.

Amaal Said, winner of the Wasafiri New Writing Prize for Poetry in 2015, is a Danish-born Somali photographer and poet currently based in London. She is a member of the Burn After Reading poetry collective and a former Barbican Young Poet.
