Spoken, Not Stirred is helping us fundraise for our upcoming publication ‘Catastrophe’, a poem-poster by Somali-based poet, Weedhsame.

Weedhsame is widely regarded as one of the most promising young Somali poets of his generation and Spoken, Not Stirred are helping us, give him a voice in the UK.

‘Catastrophe’ is all about the displacement of the Somali people and mass migration, very relevant to the current refugee crisis. Catastrophe offers a vital new perspective to this matter and gives a voice to the nameless people we see in news reports about mass migration.

All proceeds from the event will be going to the fundraiser

Entry fee is £4 on the door

Critically acclaimed, BBC Radio 4 Poet Daljit Nagra will be present and be giving us a reading of the poem

There will be food!

Open mic slots – Bring along some African inspired poems!
