“I enjoyed the collaborative spirit of it. This was something I hadn’t experienced in a workshop before but it was so valuable!” – Workshop participant

The Poetry Translation Centre and Vietnamese Family Partnership – Gia Đình Việt are teaming up to offer London’s Vietnamese diaspora community a free series of three poetry translation workshops this January and February. You don’t need to have any experience in translation to take part.

Guided by award-winning poet and writer April Yee and a roster of expert translators from the Vietnamese community, at each workshop we’ll work together to create a group translation of a poem, celebrating Vietnamese culture and exploring the translation process.

All three collaborative translations will be published on the PTC’s website. Participants are encouraged to attend all three workshops to prepare to perform the poems at a special Vietnamese Poetry Showcase at the Deptford Lit Fest in March 2025.
