Today is International Woman’s Day. All this month the Poetry Translation Centre is celebrating women poets and translators. The PTC first translated Coral Bracho’s work in 2005 when we brought her over to tour the UK as part of the first World Poets tour. Her work was translated by the UK poet Katherine Pierpoint and Tom Boll.
Braco has published six books of poems including La voluntad del ámbar [The Will of Amber] (1998), Ese espacio, ese jardín [That Space, That Garden] (2003), and Cuarto de hotel (2007). She is also a translator and a member of Sistema Nacional de Creadores.
You can read Tom Boll’s essay on the Mexican poets translated by the PTC, ‘Three Mexican Poets’ here.
