Longing

Longing

He knows how to light up his evenings
and brighten his mornings:
once, he would ignite her with sweat,
once, he would burnish her with song

Flushed,
he graces his cigarettes with an ode
He enflames a woman,
a mirror,
and a night -
as he rises through his cloud of smoke

Burnt,
he finds songs in the barrel of time
.... he snuffs out time.... and moves on
He longs for travel and freedom
Bourne by the wind
...... he journeys
to his distant star

Longing

He knows how to light his evenings
And brightens his mornings
He used to ignite her with sweat
And brightens her with singing

Red-faced
He graces the packet of cigarette with singing
He enflames a woman
And a mirror
And an evening
And he rises up from his smoke

Burnt
He finds songs behind the magazine of seconds/time
...he turns off the time...and he continues
Longing for travel and freedom
Fluttering in the winds
...... he continues
Towards his distant star.
