Tania Montenegro haswritten poetry since childhood but only began to share readings and publications at University where she studied journalism in the 1990s. She co-founded Imagen (Impossible Grouping of Noxious Writers) and was a member of ANIDE (Association Nicaraguan Women Writers’ Association). As a feminist social communications writer and journalist she has worked in writing-editing with Nicaraguan and Central American media, and with NGOs working on the prevention of patriarchal violence. Her literary publications include contributions to cultural supplements and magazines as well as the anthologies: Ruben’s Orphans (Marco Morelli, Painted Rooster Press NYC 2001); Poesía de fin de siglo: Nicaragua-Costa Rica (Ediciones Perro Azul, Revista Fronteras & Revista 400 Elefantes, San José de Costa Rica, 2001); ZurDos: recent Latin American poetry (Yanko González & Pedro Araya, Chile, 2005); and Cuerpo plural, Anthology of contemporary hispanoamerican poetry (Gustavo Guerrero, Instituto Cervantes 2010). Her poetry book La revolvición (The revolvition) was published in 2013.
